Melanie Knight set up the business two years ago because her conviction was (and still is) that the whole point of cutting-edge advancement in the workplace is to make life easier for people, not drive them shrieking up the wall. She believes that simple, straightforward, plain English explanations of how, why, where, when and how, lead to smiley, calm, contented computer users as opposed to hair-tearing, wild-eyed, frustrated ones.

Prior to starting the business, Melanie spent twelve years in the IT industry in a variety of development and management roles. She has since taken all her practical experience and combined that with well-developed communication skills. She prefers not to baffle people with techie terms but to make life as straightforward as possible, and it’s this which has made the business what it is today. She also fervently believes that listening is one of the most important things she can do for a client and because of that is able to pick up exactly what is wanted from a site or system. In that way, she ensures that what is eventually created is spot on!

ITS focuses on website and database development as well as I.T. training and support and works with a range of clients from the charity, education and commercial sectors. In two years, Melanie and her team have earned accolades and built a reputation amongst grateful clients who have seen Melanie’s methods produce immediate benefits for their bottom line.



Melanie spent two incredible, eye-opening years in South Africa through VSO (voluntary services overseas), supporting two charities with their IT needs. She currently maintains her support as a voluntary selector on the volunteer interviewing panel.
